Mysteries of Immortal Puppet Master/
Chapter 577: Why Would I Need Virility When I Prefer Simplicity
: I, Ning Zhuo, Need No Virility Boost?
Ning Zhuo and Sun Lingtong raced through the high skies, one chasing after the other.
"Faster, faster!" Sun Lingtong shouted excitedly, but even pushing his Cangtie Han Armor to its limits, he couldn't shake off Ning Zhuo.
After all, both mechanical battle armors were crafted by the same person, using identical designs and materials, so their performance was quite similar.
Sun Lingtong’s eyes shifted craftily. "Little Zhuo, the Cangtie Han Armor should be capable of going faster, right?"
His tone was confident.
He had also studied the mechanical texts left behind by Ning Zhuo’s mother and possessed considerable skill in mechanics himself.
"Yes," Ning Zhuo replied frankly, as he always did with Sun Lingtong. "Since the Cangtie Han Armor is armor worn on our bodies, I set safety limits for it. Within those limits, no matter how you use it, it remains stable."
"But if you exceed the safety line, there’s a risk it can’t handle it."
Sun Lingtong urged impatiently, "Enough talk, hurry, Little Zhuo, tell me how to break the limit."
Ning Zhuo chuckled lightly. "It’s simple. Channel your magic power into the Xuanji Array Eye of the Two Forms Formation, and at the same time, focus your spiritual sense on the bird-shaped rune on the Golden Core Turntable."
"That will lift the restriction."
As soon as Ning Zhuo finished speaking, a loud explosion echoed, and he saw Sun Lingtong burst through the air, creating a shockwave as his speed skyrocketed, quickly putting hundreds of paces between them.
"Hahaha!"
"This feels great!"
"Little brother, you can just eat my dust." Sun Lingtong yelled, exhilarated.
After flying ahead, he looped back, circling around Ning Zhuo with whoops and hollers, his attitude utterly cocky.
Ning Zhuo snorted. "Big bro, I can break the limit too."
With that, he also released the safety line, and the performance of his entire Cangtie Han Armor surged dramatically.
Sun Lingtong let out a strange cry and flew off first.
Ning Zhuo chased closely behind. "Watch me catch up to you!"
The two raced through the high skies, their speeds increasing steadily.
The wind resistance against them grew stronger, and Ning Zhuo quickly felt breathless, immediately mobilizing his magic power.
White Tiger Breaks the Army Formation!
He activated this formation, and the golden swallow wings immediately radiated white-gold light, slicing through the air ahead with a continuous tearing sound.
The front of his mechanical armor began to glow red, and the temperature inside the iron armor rose sharply.
Ning Zhuo then activated the Earthen Shield Formation on his helmet, enveloping his entire body in a faint yellow, semi-transparent protective shield that boosted his defense several times over.
The mechanical armor no longer glowed red, and the temperature inside the iron armor was immediately controlled.
But the respite was short-lived. As his speed continued to increase, Ning Zhuo felt pressure enveloping his entire body, making it difficult to breathe.
He pushed the Two Forms Converging Flow Formation inside the armor to its limit, finally balancing the pressure inside and out.
"This is the first time I’ve flown at such speed."
Ning Zhuo’s nerves were taut as he flew, simultaneously checking the internal condition of the Cangtie Han Armor.
He noticed that in the grooves of the Five Elements Golden Core Turntable, the golden cores were emitting dazzling light, and the rate of golden core energy consumption had increased by more than three times compared to before.
Even with the White Tiger Breaks the Army Formation clearing the way, he still had to use his own strength to resist the air resistance.
Apart from the exertion, even the slightest adjustment in posture affected his entire flight path.
Sun Lingtong ahead was waving his arms and legs, his flight path full of ups and downs, practically jumping and darting through the high skies.
But he was having a great time, cheering continuously.
Ning Zhuo, however, kept his legs together and his arms pressed tightly against his sides.
Mechanical clasps connected his arms and torso, temporarily locking them in place.
His whole body was like an arrow, his head not tilted up but facing straight ahead. This drastically reduced wind resistance, allowing his speed to soar even faster.
At the same time, mechanical components extended from his heels, like fins, assisting Ning Zhuo in adjusting his flight direction.
"Wah yah yah!" Sun Lingtong shouted, flying like a headless fly straight into a nearby cloud bank.
Ning Zhuo seized the opportunity to overtake him, charging ahead.
"Big bro, I’ve passed you!" Ning Zhuo laughed heartily.
"Brat, don’t get cocky!" Sun Lingtong quickly emerged from the clouds, adjusting his flight posture to stop flailing his limbs, and chased after Ning Zhuo just as intently.
Flames shot fiercely from his palms and soles, trailing several yards of fire behind him.
Sun Lingtong’s speed surged dramatically!
Ning Zhuo’s heart skipped a beat, and he quickly sent a telepathic reminder, "Big bro, take it easy. I’ve never tested it to such extremes before."
Sun Lingtong grinned widely. "Isn’t that perfect? Little Zhuo, take this!"
With that, he charged straight at Ning Zhuo.
Ning Zhuo swiftly dodged.
Sun Lingtong whooshed past, the air current he created pushing Ning Zhuo sideways by over a dozen paces.
Sun Lingtong’s boisterous laughter followed, "Little Zhuo, can you still keep up with me?"
Inside his armor, Ning Zhuo’s gaze sharpened. "Hmph, big bro, don’t forget, I designed this Cangtie Han Armor myself. How could I lose to you?"
Spurred by competitiveness, he also unleashed several yards of fiery tail, charging toward Sun Lingtong.
Sun Lingtong didn’t look back; his spiritual sense covered a wide range, immediately detecting Ning Zhuo closing in. A slight smile tugged at his lips, genuinely pleased.
"Little Zhuo, you’ve really changed."
"The old you would never act like this."
"Everything we’ve been through, especially the experiences on the Two Nations battlefield, has ignited your iron will and courage. You’re a sixteen-year-old youth; you should have this kind of passion."
The old Ning Zhuo would have stayed silent and restrained, always keeping a low profile, avoiding such flamboyant displays.
Charge, charge, charge!
Ning Zhuo’s speed kept increasing.
He had never flown so fast before.
This was his first experience of such intensity, thrilling him to the core.
The golden cores in the turntable shone brilliantly, and from exerting full power, they vibrated slightly.
The entire Five Elements Golden Core Turntable, from allocating and converting golden core energy, had long reached its limit, the whole disk scalding hot.
The Two Forms Converging Flow Formation, responsible for adjusting internal and external pressure, flickered unsteadily, as if panting for breath.
The entire mechanical battle armor emitted an overloaded whine.
Ahead, Sun Lingtong suddenly ascended, climbing higher into the sky!
Not to be outdone, Ning Zhuo followed closely, sharply ascending as well.
In that instant, his elbows, hips, legs, and feet pressed hard against the inner walls of the armor.
His face was squeezed out of shape, his teeth chattering uncontrollably. Ning Zhuo quickly clenched his jaw and shut his mouth tightly.
The golden swallow wings, enduring the abrupt change in direction, shook violently, with the greatest pressure at the wing roots, emitting creaking sounds that were nerve-wracking to hear.
"Big bro, ease up a bit," Ning Zhuo urged.
But Sun Lingtong cheered, "This is really intense!"
The next moment, Ning Zhuo saw the flames on Sun Lingtong’s armor above surge again, and the flames spewing out were no longer red but orange-red.
Clearly, the temperature was even higher.
Unwilling to admit defeat, Ning Zhuo gritted his teeth and followed suit.
He also pushed the Li Fire Tongue Formation to its limit.
The feeling of being pushed back intensified threefold!
The buffer air membrane formed by the Two Forms Converging Flow Formation was compressed as thin as paper.
A dull pain from his hip bones grinding against the inner armor wall kept coming.
His entire body, bones and flesh, bore heavy pressure, as if carrying a thousand-pound burden!
Suddenly, Ning Zhuo followed Sun Lingtong straight into the cloud layer above.
In an instant, his vision turned completely white, unable to see even an outstretched hand.
The earthen shield endured more pressure, the red heat on the Cangtie Han Armor’s surface quickly faded, and even a bit of frost formed on Ning Zhuo’s inner thighs before vanishing in a flash.
Whoosh!
Just three breaths later, Ning Zhuo’s vision abruptly cleared, revealing a vast, clear sky.
The scorching sun hung high, extremely dazzling, shining over a sea of clouds.
Ning Zhuo was now above the sea of clouds, perpendicular to the ground, still rapidly climbing.
He squinted, looking around, his heart surging with emotion as he let out a light whistle, fully expressing his youthful spirit.
The sky is high, the earth is wide, let me fly as I please!
"Where’s big bro?" Ning Zhuo stopped whistling and looked around.
Sun Lingtong sent a telepathic message, "Little Zhuo, over here, see what I found."
Ning Zhuo eased off the flames, adjusted his direction, and dove into the sea of clouds.
Passing through this cloud layer, he reunited with Sun Lingtong and witnessed a hunting scene.
Two Golden Feathered Dark Eagles, one large and one small, circled in the sky. On the mountainside, a flock of sheep huddled together nervously, hiding behind their lead ram.
The smaller golden eagle was the one Sun Lingtong and Ning Zhuo had just scared into cawing like a crow.
The larger golden eagle was likely its father, with a head as large as an ox’s, and an iron-gray hooked beak over two feet long. The feathers on its nape showed a gradient of black and gold, standing up like a black-gold crown.
Its wings spread to a span of six yards, casting a huge shadow of death over the grassy mountainside.
Its eagle claws resembled bronze, with leg bones as thick as a grown man’s waist. Each of its four talons was as long as a short sword, glinting coldly in the sunlight.
With every beat of its wings, the powerful muscle lines beneath its feathers were visible, like mountains cast from molten iron, giving a overwhelming sense of strength.
The feathers on its back were arranged in sharp, arrow-like patterns, and the twelve tail feathers extending from its tailbone were over ten feet long, condensed with dense golden light.
This was an adult Golden Feathered Dark Eagle at the Golden Core level!
The Dark Eagle’s dark golden pupils locked onto the sheep flock.
Suddenly, the eagle folded its wings and plummeted like a falling star, claws spread, each talon wreathed in faint green wind pressure.
The lead ram on the mountainside raised its head and let out a long cry, shooting a burst of fiery flame from its mouth with astonishing speed.
The Golden Feathered Dark Eagle lightly sidestepped, dodging the attack, then flew into the flock, reaching out with its claws to grab two sheep at once.
It then soared high into the sky, gently squeezing its claws and crushing the two spirit sheep into mincemeat.
In an instant, blood and shredded flesh scattered over the grass, panicking the flock even more.
After doing this, the Golden Feathered Dark Eagle didn’t continue its attack but let out an eagle cry, calling the eaglet.
The eaglet imitated its father and began hunting as well.
But the lead ram continuously shot bursts of fiery flame, forcing the eaglet to dodge repeatedly, failing in multiple attempts.
The father eagle roared angrily, then beat its wings, stirring up a violent wind pressure that flattened the green grass and forced the sheep to their knees, huddling together and trembling.
With its father’s help, the eaglet regrouped, successfully caught a ewe, and flew high into the sky.
The flock bleated in mourning, while the eaglet cried out joyfully.
"Quite interesting," Ning Zhuo observed with keen interest.
Sun Lingtong’s eyes shifted, and a new idea came to him. "Little Zhuo, how about we use the Cangtie Han Armor to spar with this Golden Feathered Dark Eagle?"
Without waiting for Ning Zhuo’s response, Sun Lingtong immediately charged at the adult golden eagle and launched an attack.
The adult golden eagle had long noticed Sun and Ning; seeing Sun Lingtong rushing at it, it immediately spat a golden beam.
Sun Lingtong nimbly dodged, and just as he was about to collide with the eagle, he abruptly adjusted at the last moment, brushing past it.
The earthen shield and the eagle’s feathers rubbed violently, sparking a series of metallic sparks.
"I’m gonna roast this bird!" Sun Lingtong took the chance to aim his palms at the eagle and spew Li Fire.
The golden eagle cried out in pain, angrily beat its wings, and stirred a gust of strong wind that blew Sun Lingtong away.
Sun Lingtong’s golden wings behind him stood upright like blades, cutting through the gust, and he charged back to tangle with the golden eagle.
The eaglet, seeing its father under attack, angrily joined the fight.
Ning Zhuo was quicker, entering the fray as well.
For a time, the two humans and two eagles clashed repeatedly in the sky, back and forth, quite a lively scene.
The golden eagle was a Golden Core level demon cultivator, tough and thick-skinned, adept at wind and metal elements, its feathers like a layer of golden armor with astonishing defense.
But Sun and Ning’s Cangtie Han Armors both had standard Golden Core level combat power.
The successive attacks of Li Fire and golden wings soon wounded the adult golden eagle, drawing blood.
The golden eagle didn’t linger in the fight; it grabbed the eaglet and fled in panic.
Sun and Ning hovered in mid-air.
"Not chasing?" Sun Lingtong looked at Ning Zhuo in confusion.
Ning Zhuo slowly shook his head. "Considering their deep father-son bond, let it be."
Sun Lingtong chuckled and chose to comply.
Ning Zhuo had lost his father young and his mother at two; to save his mother, he schemed against a Nascent Soul cultivator, and now traveled the world to find his mother’s relics.
From these actions, one could see how much Ning Zhuo valued family bonds.
What one lacks, one often craves and seeks.
Childhood deficiencies often haunt a person for life.
The two hovered in mid-air, quietly watching the eagle father and son fly away.
Baa, baa, baa.
At that moment, the lead ram walked beneath them, looking up and softly calling.
Both Sun and Ning were drawn to look.
The lead ram lowered its head, its abdomen contracting, and spat out a glowing sphere from its mouth.
It placed the sphere on the grass, bent its front knees, knelt on the ground, and kowtowed three times to Sun and Ning before rising and walking away.
"Is this for us?" Ning Zhuo hadn’t expected such a reward.
His curiosity was piqued. "What is this?"
Sun Lingtong identified it and laughed. "This is Fiery Sun Essence. It becomes heavy as a mountain when encountering Yin energy and light as a feather when touching Yang energy!"
"It’s an excellent virility booster."
Ning Zhuo had naturally read about it but was seeing the real thing for the first time. He immediately lost interest. "I’ve never lost my primordial Yang; my Yang energy is abundant. Why would I need a boost?"
"We’ve done the limit testing; let’s set off for White Paper City."
Sun Lingtong grunted in agreement.
The two didn’t linger any longer, entering the Ten-Thousand-Mile Wandering Dragon to continue their journey.
Blackwater Mountain, White Paper City.
Inside the City Lord’s mansion.
Sorrowful Music Mourning Official knelt on the ground, trembling, forcing herself to plead guilty, "City Lord, this subordinate has failed in her duty! The male consorts recruited for you were intercepted on the way."
The City Lord, with disheveled hair, restrained by over a dozen artifact-level chains, roared, "I can’t control myself much longer. Yang energy, I need more Yang energy!"
"You have ten days to gather three hundred more male consorts."
"If there’s another mistake, you will be executed on the spot!"
"Yes, yes, my lord." Sorrowful Music Mourning Official hurriedly kowtowed in gratitude.
Trembling with fear, she left the City Lord’s mansion and immediately ordered, "Quickly, the City Lord wants more men! The more Yang energy, the better!"
